MERTHUR||TIME

Story: Someone interrupts a party one night, exclaiming that they saw Merlin performing magic. Arthur, still sensitive to betrayal from the recent happenings with Morgana and Agravaine, banishes Merlin from the Kingdom. As Merlin lives in the forests, he thinks about Arthur and all that they’ve been through. Arthur, in Camelot, is regretting his rash behavior and asks Gaius about Merlin. Gaius regales Arthur with all Merlin’s sacrifices and Arthur sends out a search party, only to be informed that Merlin cannot be found. After an amount of time, thinking him dead, Arthur almost gives up, only for his knights to inform him they heard of Merlin’s whereabouts.

Dialogue:
Arthur: “I trusted the wrong people.”
Merlin: “They betrayed you, that wasn’t your fault.”
Arthur: “I was a fool. I misjudged everyone. My uncle. Morgana. Every decision I’ve made has been… wrong.”

Arthur: “I don’t want to see you dead, but I don’t want to see you. I cannot look on you every day. You will leave Camelot at first light, your return, upon pain of death.”

Merlin: “No, I’m happy to be your servant, til the day I die.”

Arthur: “I’m glad you’re here, Merlin.”

Gaius: “Within this great kingdom is a rich variety of people with a range of different beliefs. I’m not the only one seeking to protect you. There are many more who believe in the world you are trying to create. One day you will learn, Arthur. One day you will understand…just how much they’ve done for you.”

Merlin: “I willingly give my life for Arthur’s.”
Merlin: “His life is worth a hundred of mine.”
Merlin: “Have faith.”

Leon: “There is no sign of Merlin.”
Gaius: “It’s not your fault.”
Arthur: “I’m entirely to blame.”

Knights: “We found him.”

Arthur: “I couldn’t bear to lose you.”
Merlin: “I believe in you. I always have.”
